Artist's Description
“The angel answered, The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.”
Mary’s posture in the painting is of submission, her hands are held out in acceptance, allowing God’s word to be fulfilled. The Holy Spirit, is sometimes described in the Bible as wind or fire I depict these two elements in the painting. The brushstrokes depict the motion of wind and the use of color, fire. The Holy Spirit is overshadowing Mary and enveloping her. I used vibrant colors throughout the painting to show the awesomeness of this event!! The birth of Jesus changed human history. God’s greatest gift to us.

Her answer is "Beauty. And beauty comes in may forms: in color, perspective, light and proportion. And nothing is more beautiful than the work of God. The Psalmist must have been thinking of the a sunset when he wrote: 'The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands." (Psalm 19:1)
